We have big brand plans pencilled in over the next few years, and we need a skilled creative copywriter to help bring them to life. Reporting into the Creative Manager in our Farringdon head office, you’ll be crafting and upholding the brand TOV across all channels globally – online and offline. 

As part of our growing Brand Team, you will help voice and shape the next steps in our barefoot journey. This is a creative role in which you will collaborate with and receive briefs from the Creative, Product, Marketing & Commercial Teams, as well as work all levels of the business through to co-founders. The role will primarily be working with the in-house brand and marketing team writing beautifully constructed copy for a variety of needs across the business.

The copywriter is responsible for generating original & on brand copy that grabs the attention of our target audience and the world at large.


Core Responsibilities

You will be crafting all copy needs for:

=        Web copy including product copy, homepage, landing pages for projects and brand information

=        Marketing campaign copy - creative concept copy to accompany seasonal campaigns for internal and external documents

=        Weekly editorial blog posts – written, commissioned or copy checked, anything from barefoot education, product blogs, campaign write-ups to a detailed piece on biomechanics.

=        Weekly social copy – written, commissioned or copy checked. Providing creative & copy support for the social media manager

=        Weekly email blasts to our database – writing to a brief, proposing new ideas, testing and learning

=        Product descriptions – c100 SKU’s p/season

=        Support on press releases on collaborations, events and new collections (with input from global PR agencies)

=        Seasonal POS, Packaging, Leaflets, Product booklets

=        Supporting ecom team as needed with translations service for web copy

=        Senior stakeholders support with presentations, or similar (co-founders)

=        Comfortable incorporating SEO recommendations into content development

=        This role will be joining the brand at a crucial and exciting time as we re-articulate our brand expression, there will be an opportunity to work on brand TOV and creative expression

=        Ad hoc requests each week – this might be a customer service email, or it might be work on a company-wide marketing campaign

=    Commissioning & managing freelancer copywriters where necessary 

Person profile and skills

=        Strong proficiency in the craft of writing - be skilled in writing clear, concise and grammatically correct copy with a strong eye for detail

=        Consistent conceptual thinking - be highly creative and imaginative, and curious about ours & competitors products and services

=        Work well in a team - have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

=        Ability to manage multiple work streams, prioritise and work to deadlines

=        Be highly self-motivated and well organised

=        Be able to see other people's points of view and take on board feedback

=        Understand the different language styles that appeal to various target markets UK/USA particularly 

=        Conduct research, seeking out information from various sources including online & research partners to support writing

=        Familiarising yourself with the concept of barefoot and a willingness to learn 

=        Active participant in brainstorming ideas and concepts for the visuals and words with other members of the creative & marketing team

Qualifications and Experience

=        Applicants should have a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role, either in-house or agency. 

  • Compelling portfolio of work that demonstrates high quality copywriting within a variety of project types

=        Some journalistic experience would be beneficial and showcase of writing short and long form copy.
